I begin to see what you mean, yes. Otoh, I've seen so many different stories podficced. I think my point was more that there are stories that really read as if they were written for reading out loud. I read two very good writers a few weeks ago back to back, and one of them just...was easy, if that makes sense. Like I knew where to breathe and I didn't have to stop and reread because the grammar of the sentence was different than my first reading had assumed, and it felt like the author had read the story out loud.

Re thought. I actually think readers can do a lot with voice inflection or effects.
