Right. I think I got that, though not as clearly as you just said it. After all, I foreground the FEMALE fans, with their squee and their cooties and other unpleasant female fan behaviors :)

So yes, I think you are right, and really, going from creator/fan relation to sexualization isn't that far a stretch given where we are...and the power is so always there!!!

(Man, I still never wholly wrote up the Harry Potter essay about the power negotiations with Rowling controlling the canon...but it's there again and again. And the more they pretend to be fan friendly, the larger it blows up in our faces!)
